VPN PPTP client configuration – OpenWRT




In the first step, login to your router, launch a browser and enter the default IP address of the router:

Go to “Network” (1) and choose “Interfaces” (2) tab

Add new interface by clicking “Add new interface…” (3)




In the “Name of the new interface” field, type any name – “PPTP” (4) for example

In the “Protocol of the new interface” (5) field, choose “PPP”

To save settings, click “Submit” (6)




In the “Protocol” field, choose “PPTP” (7)

In the “Really switch protocol” field, choose “Switch protocol” (8)

To save settings, click “Save & Apply” (9)




pptp-mod package is not installed by default, install it by clicking – Install package “ppp-mod-pptp” (10)




Package will be installed




After installation, click “System” (11), next “Interfaces” (12) tab and edit the settings by clicking on the PPTP interface “Edit” (13)




In the “VPN Server” (14) field, type the name of one of the VPNonline server

In the customer panel you will find the available vpn server: www.portal.vpnonline.pl

In the “PAP/CHAP username” (15) field, type your User Name

In the ” PAP/CHAP password” (16) field, type your password

Go to “Firewall Settings” (17) tab




In the “Assign firewall-zone” section, select “WAN” (18)

To save settings , click“Save & Apply” (19)




After the changes, restart your router

Go to “System” (20) tab, next “Reboot” (21) tab and choose “Perform reboot” (22)




You can check the connection status in the “IPv4 WAN Status” (23) section
