VPN L2TP client configuration – Linux Ubuntu

 

In the first step, download and install “l2tp-ipsec-vpn installation” package

 

apt-add-repository ppa:werner-jaeger/ppa-werner-vpn
apt-get update
apt-get install l2tp-ipsec-vpn
reboot

 

Go to the configuration of openswan packages

Use an X.509 certificate for this host? choose “No”

 

Click Network Connections

 

 

From the drop-down list, select “Edit Connections…”

 

 

Next, click “Add”

In the “Connection name” field, type “VPN_Online_L2TP” and click “OK”

 

 

Select new connection VPN_Online_L2TP and click “Edit”

 

 

In the IPsec field, type:

Remote Server – type one of VPNonline server

 

In the customer panel you will find the available vpn server: www.portal.vpnonline.pl

 

Use pre-shared key for authentication – type vpnonline.pl

 

 

In the PPP filed, type:

User name – type your User Name

Password – type your password

To save the settings, click “OK”

 

 

To establish connection, click on the network connection tab and from the drop-down list, select the connection “VPN Online L2TP”
