VPN L2TP client configuration – Windows 10

 

In the first step, click on “START” and then “Settings” (1)

In the “Settings” panel, select: “Network & Internet” (2)

Then, select “VPN” (3) and click “Add a VPN connection” (4)

In the field: “VPN provider” (5) – select: “Windows (built-in)”

In the field: “Connection name” (6) – type name of the connection, for example: VPNonline L2TP

In the field: “Server name or address” (7) – type name of VPNonline server

 

The list of available servers, you will find in User Control Panel: www.portal.vpnonline.pl

 

In the field: “VPN type” (8) – select: “L2TP/IPsec with pre-shared key”

In the field: “Type of sign-in info” (9) select: “User name and password”

In the field: “User name” (10) type your VPNonline login

In the field: “Password” (11) type your VPNonline password

After entering the required data, click “Save” (12)

The connection has been created (13) but still requires additional configuration.

Below, you will find section “Related settings”, click the link “Change adapter options (14)

Select the newly created connection “VPNonline L2TP” (15) and click the right mouse button.

From the drop-down menu, select “Properties” (16)

In the window “VPNonline L2TP Properties” select the tab “Security” (17)

Click: “Advanced settings” (18)

Select “Use the pre-shared key authentication” (19)

In the field: “Key:” type: vpnonline.pl

Click “OK” (20) and close “Properties VPNonline L2TP” (21)

Again, click “START” and then “Settings” (22)

In the panel “Settings” select “Network & Internet” (23)

To start a VPN connection, click “Connect” (24)

After a successful connection, VPN connection status will change to „Connected” (25)

If you want to disconnect the VPN connection, click the lower-right corner of the network connection icon (26),
then click the “VPNonline L2TP” (27) active connection

To disconnect, click “Disconnect” (28)
