VPN L2TP client configuration – Windows 7

 

In the first step, click “START” (1) button and go to “Control Panel” (2) tab

Change the view of the menu, for more detailed click “Category” (3) and “Small icons” (4)

Click “Network and Sharing Center” (5)

Choose “Set up a new connection” (6)

Choose “Connect to a workplace” (7) and click “Next” (8)

In the next step, choose “Use my Internet connection (VPN)” (9)

In the: “Internet address” (10) field, type the name of one of the VPNonline server

In the: “Destination name” (11) field, type a name for the connection, for example: VPNonline L2TP

 

In the customer panel you will find the available vpn server: www.portal.vpnonline.pl

 

Select “Don’t connect now; just set it up so I can connect later” (12)

After typing the required data, click “Next” (13)

In the: “User name” (14) field, type your User Name

In the: “Password” (15) field, type your password

Select “Remember this password” (16) option

To save the settings, click “Create” (17)

Go to “Change adapter settings” (18)

Select the network connection “VPNonline – L2TP” (19) and click the right mouse button

From the drop-down menu, select “Properties” (20)

In the Connection Properties, select the “Security” (21) tab

Then from the drop-down list “Typ of VPN” (22) and choose “Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol with IPsec” (L2TP/IPsec)” (23)

Click “Advanced settings” (24)

Select “Use preshared key for authentication” (25)

In the “Key” (26) field, type: vpnonline.pl

Click “OK” (27)

Again, check the network connection “VPNonline -L2TP” (29) and click it the right mouse button

From the drop-down menu, select “Create shortcut” (30)

“Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead” choose “Yes” (31)

To run the VPN client, click on shortcut on your desktop (33)

or

click on Network Connections (32) ( in the lower right corner of the clock )
and from the drop-down list, select the network connection “VPNonline – L2TP” (33)

In the: “User name” (34) field, type your User Name

In the: “Password” (35) field, type your password

Select the option“Save this user name and password for the following users” (36)

To establish VPN connection, click “Connect” (37)

After a successful connection is established VPN connection status changes to “Connected”
